Raw Ferrero Rocher Balls (they don't need a fancy title, they're fancy enough!)

It isn't Christmas without some Ferrero Rocher's on the table!? (Is that a British tradition? Either way, I am not opposed to a Rocher!)

I'm not a fan of deprivation. I think that if having some Christmas classic treats at this time of year brings your comfort and warmth in the memories from all the years as a child you've had them. Or thoughts of being with grandparents. Or you just fancy one, because well, it's Christmas. Then those positoive, happy feelings and emotions are some much more powerful for your health than if you sat that berating yourself and saying no you can't have this and then a whirlpool of negative thoughts spill in. Stop right there.

What you can do at this time of year when you want to be health conscious and make some healthy choices is to put something like this Raw Ferrero Rocher Balls on the table. They are actually delicious! Not only that, they are made with all natural, whole ingredients that gives your immune system a boost and tops up some nutrient levels!

You should really give these a go, they are quick to make and just divine!'

Raw Ferrero Rocher Balls

INGREDIENTS (BASE):
1/2 cup packed dates
1 cup toasted hazelnuts
3 tbsp cacao powder
1 tbsp almond butter

INSTRUCTIONS BASE:

  • Blitz these four ingredients together and roll into balls.
  • Whilst rolling, push a little hazelnut in the middle.
  • Freeze them in a container for 2 hours.

INGREDIENTS (TOPPING):
2 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp cacao powder
1 tsp maple syrup
Crushed hazelnuts

INSTRUCTIONS TOPPING:

  • Mix all of these four ingredients together and dunk/roll each ball to fully coat (the topping goes hard immediately as the balls are frozen)

Store in the fridge and try not to eat all of them at once - it is a challenge that's for sure!

Happy Christmas gorgeous,

Kirsty xx
